Leicestershire have signed Pakistan midfielders Mohammad Abbas and Sohail Khan to share the club’s main role in the 2018 season.
The 27-year-old Abbas will contest most of the season. 33-year-old Sohail will be in action from late April to mid-June, when the first part of the Pakistan tour will be to England.
Abbas has 23 wickets in five friendly matches at an average of 21.34
He was the best domestic wicket taker in 2015-16 and 2016-17 in Pakistan.
Experienced Sohail has taken 432 first-class wickets at 24.37 apiece and claimed 13 wickets at 25.00 in two test appearances when Pakistan last toured England in 2016.
Leicestershire head coach Paul Nixon said: “We were looking for a high quality bowler as our overseas professional and Mohammad Abbas met all criteria.
“His test match record is another class, he’s the new boy in the block and I’m glad to get his signature.
“It was very important that we secured first-class coverage, so Sohail Khan has a great record in both the Red and White Spheres.”
