Although smartwatches have long existed, their entry into the mainstream has only recently begun. With companies like Samsung, Apple, Asus, Huawei and many more working day and night to improve the clocks and make the experience really much better.
Amidst all this is the attitude of consumers who still believe that traditional analog clocks are much better, since they are manufactured with great precision as well as perfection. This has led to many debates about how smartwatches should not exist or be considered a bane of the watch concept.
Still, for people who actually show their watches all the necessary information coming to their phone, everything in an ecosystem actually considers smartwatches to be very useful, and as a result, the smartwatch industry at this point creates a separate entity for itself the market.
Apple Watch Series 3: Your Fitness Coach
Apple did not invent the smartwatch, there is no denying that the company’s involvement and involvement in the launch of the smartwatch in the mainstream market can easily be overlooked. I’ve used almost all the Apple products that came out in my life.
One thing I can say for sure is that their consistency is something that not many can compete with. The Apple Watch serves as a statement that tells us that Apple is aware of what it does. In my opinion, the Series 3 needs no introduction.
This smartwatch is an evolution of the older generation of the Apple Watch and makes things better than they were. You still get the similar unboxing experience, and even the watch does not look much different from the first version, but it’s important to note that all changes are under the hood.
As soon as I turned on the clock, the beautiful OLED display blew me away. It is bright and it is beautiful. Believe it or not, the display of this watch has 1000 brightness nods. That’s an awesome amount of brightness for a smartwatch, but I’m in love with the display.
Luckily, the display is not the only good thing about the watch. When it comes to fitness tracking, this may be the most elaborate smartwatch on the market. There are only so many fitness tracking features and sensors available that you will never run out of them.
Not only that, but the fitness tracking apps are so good that you can just appreciate the work Apple put into the OS4 watch. The watch also comes with GPS, so it is more versatile and you can track your activities without any problems.
The battery life is officially the same as in the series 2 – 18 hours. I think that’s pretty conservative – during my normal use, I get about 2-3 days of battery life on a single full charge. Sure, the mileage will definitely vary for different users, but for me it really works very well.
Apple is a company that focuses largely on performance, and their old devices are still relevant because of their performance. The performance of the Apple Series 3 Watch is so good; it’s fast, fast and extremely snappy. Allow users to easily navigate through the menus.
Xiaomi Smart Watch With Long Last Battery
Xiaomi was one of the best companies in the market and released some fantastic budget-friendly products. Your smartphones and other accessories have always been budget friendly. Today I look at a smartwatch. The Xiaomi Amazfit is here to see if it can find its place.
I love how Xiaomi designs her products and makes them look like they are high-end products. In most cases, they use high quality components and materials. This eliminates doubts about whether the overall quality is good or not.
The Amazfit wears a beautiful design and quality. It’s just the right amount of class with eye-catching elements and it does not bother me at all. It uses the same transreflective display that is becoming more and more common in most smartwatches that come out.
The display is easy to remove, bright enough and looks great. Another good thing about the Xiaomi Amazfit is the battery life. When fully charged, the battery can last between 3-5 days. This is undoubtedly one of the best battery times I have seen in a smartwatch.
The good thing about Xiaomi Amazfit is that it does not cost a lot of money, so if you have a budget and are looking for a cheap smartwatch, it’s definitely a good buy. With the Xiaomi Amazfit you also get features like Bluetooth, GPS and a wealth of sensors and fitness trackers.
On paper, the Amazfit looks like a complete package, but almost like the perfect smartwatch, there are some things that just are not good enough. First, the firmware is a bit complicated. Now this problem can be fixed with a firmware update, but now it has to be tolerated.
Another thing you need to know about the Amazfit is that the app that comes with it is very simple, you only get the bare essentials, and that’s it. The fitness activities are also limited to the Amazfit, and last but not least, it uses a charging station that is proprietary.
These issues are certainly cause for concern, but the good news is that they will not break your overall user experience experience. It is undeniable that the Xiaomi Amazfit is a wonderful smartwatch that is suitable for many people.
It lacks the advanced feature and the companion app is not really that good, but these are issues that can be fixed down the street.
Motorola Moto 360 Sport- Beautiful Sports Watch
The original Moto 360 remains on the list of my favorite smartwatches, the understated and minimalist design is something to die for. After a few years I look at the Motorola Moto 360 Sport. A newly released version that is more suitable for athletic users.
I’m glad to see that Motorola is still following the design language of the original Moto 360 with a few tweaks here and there. That was one of my biggest concerns when Lenovo took over Motorola a couple of years ago, but after seeing the Moto 360 Sport, it’s gone.
The 360 Sport drifts away and does not present itself as something special, and while it is built for people who prefer to stay active and do lots of sports. There is nothing that prevents an average consumer from using it.
I do not play a lot of sports, and yet the clock welcomes me with many features. The design is still understated and looks good. However, I can not bring myself to recognize the small chin that is still on the dial.
It’s something that has always bothered me, and though it’s not as prominent as it once was, I can not help wondering why. My favorite pastime on the Moto 360 Sport, of course, is the screen, not just the screen itself, but also the technology that’s in it.
Now I praise the screen so much because the screen looks the same to everyone, but it uses a clever technology called the Motorola AnyLight Display. If the user is looking at the clock under normal light and actively using the clock, this will be displayed on the standard LCD screen.
However, once the clock stops running or direct light falls on the clock areas, the screen turns into a transreflective display. A display that I have seen on the Pebble Time watches. This function is designed to ensure that the battery life is maintained and the user can easily read the time and date.
Speaking of battery life, it saddens me to say that it’s not as good as I expected. Sure, smartwatch uses smaller batteries than our other devices, but they should be efficient enough to power the clock for several days.
Unfortunately, this is not the case with the Motorola Moto 360 Sport; When fully charged, the Moto 360 Sport will last a full day or longer if you do not use it that often. It’s not terrible for a lot of people because they load their devices before they sleep, but not the best.
Another thing I should emphasize is that despite the fact that it is a watch built for active users, there is no way to perform multi-sport tracking on the watch. Something unusual for a sports watch. Last but not least, the heart rate sensor is a bit unreliable.
If these problems do not bother you, and you are still looking for something that is minimal, does not cost much, and does the job, then the Motorola Moto 360 is one of the best smartwatches you can buy. Sure, the problems are there, but for many people, they are just subjective.
Samsung Smart Watch – Samsung Gear S3
Samsung’s Gear series of smartwatches has dominated the market for the right reasons. This happens when you use clever marketing and great products to combine them. The Gear S3 is definitely one of my favorite smartwatches.
Right out of the box you can see that the S3 is a top smartwatch; Released earlier this year, the S3 focuses on everything that was right in previous releases and adds even more features than before. Sure, I know it’s comparatively higher than some of the other options on the list, but it’s fine.
The quality of workmanship is extremely pleasing, and the materials used are of the highest quality. The watch definitely feels like a fashion statement and feels like a premium smartwatch.
Unlike some other smartwatches in the market, Gear S3 does not run on Android Wear, but on Samsung’s own Tizen operating system. Before my criticism, I had my doubts about this operating system, as it is still something new and unknown to me.
Luckily, if I use the clock for a week, I can say that the operating system is promising, but the strong lack of apps can keep some users at bay. Samsung has recently pushed an update to this clock that allows you to save Spotify playlists offline to the 4GB of storage space.
This feature makes my life easier as I no longer have to rely on my data connection to listen to the music when I’m out there. The Gear S3 has an animated, always-on display, and unlike some of the other watches I use by default, this is a beautiful display that Samsung has kindly provided.
Another great thing I like about the Gear S3 is the fact that it’s loaded with activity trackers of all kinds, and while some people may be skeptical about it, especially when you think about the amount of permissions required. It really is not such a big problem, to be honest.
The Gear S3 also has a great, intuitive interface that’s some of the best I’ve ever seen in a smartwatch. All these good qualities combine to make this a top smartwatch. However, I have some concerns that are necessary to be listed.
For starters, the watch looks great on your wrist; Well, it depends on how your wrists are. This is a subjective problem, but I still believe that it is important to point this out. Another thing that was a disappointment was the lack of proper apps.
KingWear KW88 Smart Watch
The last clock on the list is rather unusual. That’s because it’s not from a top-class manufacturer, but from a Chinese company called KingWear. I found the KingWear KW88 while researching smartwatches, and I was so intrigued that I decided to investigate it.
I make sure that there are no expectations when I check a product, similar to some of my readers. I was surprised when I realized that the clock is actually much better than I thought. I can say that the KingWear KW88 is definitely the best smartwatch that can be bought for under $ 100.
This is a very bold statement, but it is true. Apart from the strange features like a camera on the side, the rest of the clock is pretty standard. It does not run Android Wear, but a full-fledged, modified version of Android itself.
The whole operation is pretty smooth and the clock does all the work you expect from it. So, there are no complaints. It even has fitness trackers with their respective apps that allow the user to properly track their activities.
It uses a 1.3 AMOLED screen, which basically means that you get saturated colors, great brightness, and amazingly little angle. I can not really fuss over the screen, especially with the price this watch carries.
The watch also comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cell phone options; and although many people will not be interested in talking on this little clock, it’s still good to see that the company is trying to build in a decent amount of features users want.
You also get 4 gigs of onboard memory coupled with a quad-core MediaTek processor. Honestly, this is where the real problem begins. You see, smartwatches never need that high core count or powerful processors.
So when you connect a powerful processor to a smartwatch, you get problems like battery life. I hope it does not happen, but it saddens me to say that the battery life on the KingWear KW88 is absolutely terrible.
Another reason for the terrible battery life is the fact that Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and mobile devices are included in it, and even if they are not constantly used, they still need power. In the end, they take a large part of the battery with them.
When fully charged, the watch will last about 8 hours in normal use, less for heavy users. This means your watch will not be battery powered before the end of the day. Unfortunately, no software patches can fix this problem.
At the end of the review, all I’d say is that the KingWear KW88 is a pretty good deal for less than $ 100. What happens if it misses all the fancy features of the best smartwatches I’ve seen so far? It is designed for a specific use case and a specific audience and fulfills the task that it should fulfill.
You do not have to spend an insane amount of money on a smartwatch if you can do the job with something that costs a fraction of the money.
